The Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Ghana (ICRS Ghana) is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) established to champion the principles of corporate responsibility, ethical governance, and sustainable development within Ghana and across Africa. We serve as a bridge between policy, practice, and people — convening business leaders, government, civil society, media, and young professionals around a shared commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.

As an independent, non-profit institution, ICRS Ghana operates free from commercial bias, allowing us to hold institutions accountable, set credible standards, and champion the public interest in matters of ESG, governance, and social responsibility.

Who We Are

Our Story

ICRS Ghana was founded in response to a clear and urgent need: as African economies grow and global investment increasingly demands accountability, there remains a significant gap in local capacity, standards, and platforms dedicated to corporate responsibility and sustainability. ICRS Ghana was established to close that gap — building homegrown expertise, frameworks, and leadership that reflect African realities while meeting international standards of practice.

Since inception, the Institute has grown into a trusted convener and capacity-building partner, working with corporates, regulators, development partners, and civil society to advance a shared sustainability agenda.

What Sets Us Apart

  • African-Rooted, Globally Benchmarked — Our frameworks are designed for African market realities while aligning with international ESG and sustainability standards.
  • Practitioner-Led — Our programs are designed and delivered by seasoned ESG, governance, and communications practitioners with direct industry experience.
  • Multi-Sector Network — We convene business, government, media, and civil society under one shared sustainability agenda.
  • Accountability-Driven — We do not just advocate for sustainability; we build the tools, metrics, and platforms that make accountability measurable.

Our Vision

An Africa where ethical leadership, corporate accountability, and sustainable practice are the standard — not the exception — driving inclusive growth and shared prosperity for generations to come.

Our Mission

To build the knowledge, capacity, and platforms that empower individuals, institutions, and industries across Africa to embed corporate responsibility and sustainability into the heart of how they operate, communicate, and grow.

Our Core Values

  • Integrity — We hold ourselves and the institutions we work with to the highest standards of honesty and ethical conduct.
  • Accountability — We believe sustainability commitments must be measurable, transparent, and verifiable.
